Februarys musings

Perfumes i enjoyed were Halston EDT, Scherrer plus some of my old favorites like L´Air de Rien and Roma.

Music: I forgot to mention the last month that i went to the Opera the first time since Covid. The Stuttgart Opera was doing John Adams „Nixon in China“, which is a rarely played opera and mostly known to lovers of Minimal music (Phil Glass etc). I really loved the costumes and the inscenation and also the music was very good. I think i should go there more often. I had a seat in the third rang, but a very good view for a whopping 9Euros, this is crazy cheap, much cheaper than a visit to the cinema

Cinema:

We went to see „Perfect Days“ by Wim Wender. The main character was soo lovely and it was a great acting performance, even if there was not much spoken in the film, but his face expressed Everything!

Knitting:

I finally finished the „A good cigar“ cardigan designed by Hyggestrick. It was nearly finished last year but i procrastinated for a year to finish the i-cord binding. I like the cardigan a lot, its classic, very lightweight and not too warm. And although there is a strand of alpaca in it, it is almost not itchy. Yarn is by Holst, a mix of one strand Supersoft and Ticicaca Alpaca.

Now i started a new cardigan for the boyfriend, the saddle shoulder attempt did not work out, so i am now knitting the „Don‘ t ask“ cardigan by Isabell Krämer.

Cooking: I still cook mostly all our meals. Interesting recipes this month were a Udon Stir-fry, filled pumpkin, chinese chicken and chestnut pot plus an asian inspired frittata.

Reading:

I read the whole Trudi Canavan- Guild of the black magicians. The Winsor Knot as a bit of light reading (The queen as a detective, this was a fun idea). A bit strange and disturbing was Han Kang- The Vegetarian, some scenes still pop up in my mind.

Crying in H-Mart was not a chick-lit as i thought i would be, but a well-written story of a mother-daughter relationship and loss. Plus it made me crave Korean food….

Audio:

I listened to the whole Monster 1983-series by Ivar Leon Menger, a bit generic and lots of reverences to Stephen King, but well made. I always enjoy some horror stories….

Other:

Biking season has started again, as it is a really warm spring outside. Sadly i have to rest for 2 weeks now, because i had a small surgery and am not allowed to work out.
