last weeks bike tour impressions and a new skirt

I lived mostly of leftover frozen meals and sandwiches during the week, because i was really tired. Saturday i managed to make greek Gemista and red cabbage slaw, sunday was green been salad, fake tuna salad (chickpeas and algae) plus gnocchi and zucchini (from our alottment garden).

I was so tired on saturday, that i lay down twice over the day to rest, which was quite unusual for me. Thankfully i felt rested on sunday, so i tackled the cleaning of the flat and also managed to sew a new skirt. It is the Designerstitch Paige skirt, a nice A-line with big set in pockets at the front. I used a dark denim, so this will certainly get lots of wear, because everyone needs a denim skirt!

The Paige skirt is a really wellmade pattern, the pockets are a real eyecatcher and practical too. The instructions were really good, so i had no difficulties at all making it. I also made a wearable toile in a white linen-cotton mix to wear at work. Maybe i will even make a third one in corduroy for winter wear. I really like making my staple wardrobe items in some different fabrics

a bit crinkled, but the pocket detail is great!

Last week we did a nice bike tour along the Glems river to Besigheim. Along the river there are lots of active and inactive mills to see. Mostly the bike lane goes along the riverside, so there was a bit of shade and beautiful views. When we got hungry we discovered an opened „Besenwirtschaft“, which is a sort of pop-up farmers restaurant. They are allowed to open only a few weeks a year and mostly serve their homegrown specialties. We had a big portion of potato salad with pork and potatoes with herbed quark. Plus some icecream at our destination in Besigheim.
